to make you feel better...once the lowers it painted it may seem more clean and complete....
i think the black, with unpaint lowers, then silver mirrors is too much contrast. I think the black w/painted lowers and silver mirrors would look cleaner.

Here is a pic of Bolo's black 1.8T with the OEM S4 Mirrors. I think the fact that yours
are a flat matte finish may have something to do with how they look on the car. Bolo also had a painted body kit which I think also helped with the overall look.
