I do not like how the external antenna turned out. The installer was following XMs instructions, which calls for having 6 inches of metal around each side of the antenna. But XMs designers really should not have left an exposed wire thinking that was a good solution. I will figure out how to fix that problem.

I went with the ashtray install of the XM Commander Unit with the new Micro Antenna and used the Blitzsafe adapter into the spare input in my stock head unit. The receiver is under the dash, and the display/controller is in the ashtray. Sound quality is amazing, no commercials and no silly ghey DJs is even better.

You know that plastic piece that covers the wires feeding the inside rearview mirror for the compass and the auto dimmer? Something like that perhaps to cover up the wire on the outside.

Or, I will have the wire pulled in and just move the antenna to the very back of the roof.

But figured that this new micro antenna of theirs is only 1" x 1" that I didn't mind it on the outside. I just didn't know about the exposed wire.

I don't have the look of the antenna. It is now commonplace on all 04 cars. I just hate the wire.

Anybody want to sell me their sharkfin?
