Default H&R COs the way to go for suspension upgrade?

hows the ride? Harsh? I drive about 400 miles in a week...will the H&Rs hold up? Or should i nix the whole idea? I am really interested in these coil overs in particular...any other options or opinions out there?

BTW i dont have the audi sport suspension...just ****ty stock. Need to lower it! (but handling is what i want...)

Default If you drive that many miles per week I would

Buy a shock/spring combo. I had coilovers on my GTI. It wasn't that harsh of a ride but the roads in Washington state are pretty good.

I also had bilstein sports and H&R sport springs on it before. It was a tad stiffer then stock.

This combo will lower your car about 1.75 inches. It should give you about a one finger gap all around.

Hope this helps.

Default If you have the budget go with the H&R coilovers...

They are not harsh, to me they are still very comfortable and I drive on come of the worst roads in North america. They will almost completely reduce roll in the turns and nose dive under hard braking. There is no reason why they would not last as long as other spring/shock combo, H&R use only the highest quality components. In fact the shock used is a Bilstein. BTW if you're interested my set of H&R is up for sell. Used it less then 3 months with less then 3000 miles on them.

What are you getting instead of H&R coilovers?

Default I have a Bilstein PSS 9 coil over kit waiting for me in Paris France.....

One of the very few first ones out from Bilstein.
Who knows how long before Bilstein USA brings them to North America. So I bought through Bilstein France. But I'm also working on another suspension set up that is even more hardcore then the Bilstein but I don't know when it is going to be ready.
