Default had a 2.0t loaner, wow what a difference

03' 1.8 quatro was in the shop a few days so they gave me a 06' 2.0 quatro loaner. the difference in power is profound. the 6 speed auto is far superior to my 5 speed auto. anuone who has a chipped 1.8 tip-tronic and has driven a 2.0t tip, are they comparable power wise. i am ready to trade my car in and get a 2.0t... rick.

Default i have a 1.8T dahlback 1+ (with injectors) and power seems pretty similar

to my bro's 2.0T, except that the 2.0 power comes on a lot sooner at 2000RPM's whereas mine peaks at 2900-3000RPM (torque that is). Nice driving car but worth the hit of trading in my car, not yet :-)

Default several months ago I walked into my dealership just to take a look at the new A3...

(i still had my b6 at the time) There was a brilliant red A4 2.0T on the showroom floor that the salesman suggested I test drove. Three days later I was driving it home.

The 6 speed tip is a treat- it blips up when downshifting. I'd hit it.

Somewhat similar. You'll still lose a lot of performance with a tip, but its much better in the B7.
