Had dealer check the oil level this morning... techie says 1/4-1/2 qt. overfill is okay... ?

I brought my 3.0 into the dealer this morning to have them check the over-full condition indicated by the oil dipstick.
The oil level indicated on the dipstick is up to the 'ball' like thing above the measuring line. The service tech took a look at it and said that the indicated overfill was at most 1/4 or maybe 1/2 qt. and that I shouldn't be worried about foaming or other damage to the engine.
Since reducing the oil level would have required draining out the break-in oil (as per the tech's description), I opted to follow his advice and just leave it in.
