I come to a stop sign think i am in Sport mode but really in Drive. so im pullin out and accelerate and push the shifter into what i thought would be Drive but turned out to be neutral and the engine RPMs shot up and all the gear lights lit up...then i pulled off to the side of the road and turned the car off and strted it again...it seems to be working perfectly fine...what the hell happend?

so you started moving and shifted the car into neutral by accident... what's the issue here? that's not really a big deal, i wouldn't sweat it.

Mechanically you didnt do anything bad to the car, as long as you didnt throw it into D while the revs were still high.

its happened to me too, it just sounds scary but nothing wrong with putting car in neutral

if there are no lights on and everything sounds and feels normal should i worry at all?

i did throw it back into D by instinct im not really sure at what RPM but there was a slight thump then i pulled off the side off the road and the car restarted fine and all the gears are smooth

The rev limiter should protect your engine from over-reving. I wouldn't worry.

freaked me out as well. i think it was just a rev limiter fart.
