HARTE CHIP FOR A4 3.0 MAN

HARTE CHIP FOR A4 3.0 MAN
I have been advised that a 'Hartge' chip will add 16-23kw and 30Nm if fitted in a A4 3.0 Quattro Manual (six speed). Unfortunately there are a very few A4 3.0's which have had chip upgrades in South Africa where I stay so I cannot confirm the above figures with someone locally. Does anyone know if these figures are realistic? What are the risks of fitting such a chip? Also what happens to the car's warranty (I have only done 6000km on the car and wouldn't like to lose the free maintenance plan which runs up until 120,000 km)? What would be an indicative cost in America (I have been quoted +- US $ 400 equivalent)?. Would an Audi dealer be able to detect that the chip has been tampered with? If anyone can answer these questions I would most appreciate your response as I am VERY KEEN to do this chip upgrade.

Well, generally, if you do mods like chips, you are going to void the warranty.
I think the figures seem a little high, especially for a non turbo engine.
Apparantly, the have a "chastity belt", meaning the dealership would be able to tell if youve chipped etc.

Well, there was a thread here yesterday about two other chips that add...
around 10KW and 25Nm to the stock numbers. I guess the figures you got are TOO much higher than that, but then again, I don't know if the 3.0 is spec'ed differently in South America. The 10 and 25 numbers were for European spec, I believe.
