Default Has anyone done a US halogen to Xenon Ecode conversion?

I emailed Martyn at VAG parts and he said that theres were straight plug and play, but it was for halogen to halogen OR xenon to xenon. Not halogen to xenon. Whats involved in swapping from US halogen to Xenon Ecode???

Default you must also buy the xenon bulb and ballast as well as the xenon housing.

the xenon bulbs and ballast are expensive, ask him how much for those parts along with the housings. I think you will be looking at around 1k total.

Also you will NOT have auto levelling headlights with this type of conversion.

Default So then why...

Why would people buy someone's old xenon housings for like $450? I want to switch over to Ecode Xenons, but do you think I could sell my old housings to someone. Wouldn't they be paying THAT much more.

Default Good question... maybe cause they could then buy xenon bulbs and ballasts

and have DOT xenons for their cars. I don't know if that is a good price for the housings, probably still cheaper than buying from dealer.

Hmmmm, no auto leveling huh? What would i have to do to get that?

My other (cheaper) option would be to go for the halogen ecodes.....decisions, decisions.

you would need to get the sensors that are attached to the suspension for the auto-levelling to work.

halogen ecodes are nice also....

Default I bought straight fully-equipped ecode housings w/ xenons through a group buy some time back

cost $950 at the time, but the difference between my halogens the new xenons was **well** worth the extra $. Highly recommended.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/81294.phtml</a
