With my old 4 cyl I moved up from 195 to 205 and it made a difference.
I'm thinking drop it down to 215 and get more acceleration.
Will rubber not full out rim, making greater prob. of curb rash??

and I put those on factory sport rims every year. The overall rolling diameter is very close to the stock 235/45/17 S03s that I run in the summer.
There is some loss in performance, but you really only notice it if you're going ***** to the wall all the time. For normal, around-town driving, you're fine.
BTW, a narrower tire is better for snow. Narrower tires tend to cut through the snow and get to the surface. Wider tires tend to ride on top of the snow.

acceleration from dropping the tire size down I think you'll be sorely mistaken. You'll lose more in cornering speed than you'll gain in straight line acceleration.
