Default hawk ceramic pads

I've been looking at ceramic pads. However, on both tirerack and the hawkperformance websites they only sell ceramics for the rear of my 1996 a4. But if I search for 1999 a4 ceramics pads they make them. For some reason I thought the brake components on both the 96 & 99 were the same. Is this true, or not? I would like to know before I purchase pads.
Thanks- NE

Default can't really answer your question regarding fitment, but I just yanked my hawk ceramics out after

about 3 weeks. noisy and didn't stop me very well.

Default Not necessarily the same.

Audi uses 2 different rear pad FMSI numbers.
D228 and D340.
D340 will work on all years, while D228 will work only on some.

If the pad shape they have is the D228 shape, then that will explain it.

The Mintex pads, and Carbotech pads we offer are the D340 shape, and will work on all years.

Default Ew, go with the HPS

Love mine so far, front only though. Still on OEM rear. Never heard good things about the ceramics.
