Default Headlight bulb constantly blowing?

Hi

My passenger side dipped headlight keeps going after around 4 weeks of intermittent use. The only thing that's different is that the headlight tabs are broken on the passenger side whereas they are intact on the drivers side which (touch wood) hasn't gone in ages - could the headlight tabs being busted be the reason as i assume the headlight vibrates more when the tabs are broken? If so anyone know the part no. for replacement tabs?

Thanks

There are headlight repair kits for left side 8E0-998-121 and right side 8E0-998-122 that run 39.31 per side, we have one of each in stock. That should fix your broken headlight tab issue. I'm not sure on why your bulb keeps going bad on you though.

Thanks Jeff,

If I was in the states I would have bought it off you but I'm in Ireland. Can you help though? Check out the attached image and text...

As the pic says do I need to cut away the old piece so the new tab sits flush with all the slots lined up properly?

I asked a tech, and he believes the two small screws that come with this new bracket are used to mount the bracket to the headlight and that yes you do modify the headlight to allow the bracket to fit flush. Since I am not familiar with this, I originally thought this bracket mounted to the core support and then provided a mount for the tab on the headlight. The tech said it moves in and out WITH the headlight so I was wrong.

So the question is, do you see 2 areas where you can mount the 2 small screws horizontally into the headlight in order to secure the bracket to the headlight? Our techs here don't usually do bodywork like repairs such as this, so I'd rather ask you. There are no instructions from Audi on how to do this.
