Default Headlight issues

I have a 2002 A4 1.8T. Since i bought the car 5 years ago i have changed at least 4 turn signal bulbs and now the main head light seems to be dead. I was wondering if it common for the light bulbs to die that fast or it is just my bad luck.

thanks

electrical gremlin, better to replace $2 bulbs than fixing it, if it's even possible

Default Frequent lighting failures, are often caused by the bulb contacts inside the lamp socket, ...

being loose, resulting in On again Off again lights. Replacing an otherwise still good bulb reestablishes the contact electrical connection, giving the appearance that the old bulb had burned out.
To remedy this problem, remove the bulb from the socket, and carefully bend the bulb contact/s upwards toward the socket open end, a little bit. The result will provide firm contact pressure on the bulb base contact/s with the bulb inserted in the socket. Also, a thin film of Vaseline is recommended applied to the bulb base and contacts when reinstating the bulb into the socket.

So, just lube it up, and...sorry, I'll be quiet now.

Default i've lost 1 headlight, 4 turns, and just recently a rear running light.

oddly after i got some '02 used factory xenon rig i've never had any problems, i did put those low-output no-eggyolk turns in place of the stock isht and it seems to help in every department other than about 40% less light output lol.

you get any condensation?

you could just go PM on the bulbs and replace them all (front/backs).

those LL long life ones at autozone are b/s thats all i've used and they've blown out just as randomly.
