The driver side mirror doesn't dim properly, ie. it would dim but not dark enough. Any clues? I already brought it back to the dealer and they replaced the mirror for me under warranty and it is still the same (not dark enough). I remember it used to dim very dark, so what is the problem?

The rearview mirror and passenger side mirror are okay though, no problem yet (i.e very dark); so I guess both sensors are working fine. Actually, how does the dimming mirror work?
Is there voltage or some kind of signal send to the side mirror?
How do the sensors 'communicate' with the side mirror?

It's only one sensor at the interior mirror. Not much to do but to ask for another replacement.

I will probably bring my car to another dealer to see if they can fix this issue. Without the passenger side dimming mirror, I am fine but I do a lot of night time driving and the glare is just too much for me.

blowing corrosive liquid throughout the interior, burning into the stereo controls, auto climate controls, corroded the plastic on the shift console, marred the finish on leather shifter, as well as black splattered stains all over the front of the beige leather seats. This all happened one day while at work. As the mirror is stamped with VW symbol as well as Audi rings, I suspect this unit may also have been used on some Audi applications (the car is an '00 Jetta VR6). Thus far, neither local dealers nor VW of America are willing to provide any support due to this defect.
