Default Help! Engine noise through speakers!

Well I just spent a load of bucks on Diamonds Hex separates, Arc Audio amp, and a sub. Sounds crazy and awesome. But there's that nagging engine noise through speakers. I have the factory head unit and the guys at La Jolla Audio still hasn't got it right...the noise is still there. They just spent the whole day trying to figure this one. Anyone have suggestions on how to get rid of this? I want to keep my factory head unit and plus I have no more dough for a after market unit. Can anyone help or have experience with this?

I had the same problem, got it done at future shop. had to get the amp taken out and kept the rear speakers in. They couldn't figure out how to get rid of the noise.

Default easy, check your ground on your amp, or they ran your speaker wire next to

a bunch of powered wires that are interfering. Make sure the ground is at least as big as the power wire too. also check to make sure your RCA's aren't running next to powered wires either. I bet thats the problem.

Default well they "should"

but you'd be surprised at how many people get hired to install without being certified. I did when I was 17 )

My money is on the Ground. It's a common problem with novice installers.

Default Where did they get the line level signal from?

Make sure the signal ground is at the same point as the radios ground, NOT just a common ground.

This might involve running a separate ground wire back to the amp depending where they tapped in.

If they used one of those speaker to line-level converters (hopefully a good one) then make sure thats grounded properly also.

Default true, when you ground things everywhere you get "ground loops"

which gives you that supercharger sounds through your speakers
