Hey guys..

I have a 2002 A41.8TQ Avant and I went to open te glove box and it made a snapping noise and now it does not have the soft type opening...it just flings open and bounces on the hinges. Did a spring or something snap ? Is this easy to fix ?

You can take a look, but either way if somethings broken, the dealership can just replace the part.

Its covered under warranty.

open the passenger side door and go in from the side and pop open the cover on the side you will see your problem there....let me guess your light doesnt' work either... well if it doesn't then its the same peice that broke on mine.. i had mine replaced its happened to other cars also...

similiar to the fuse box cover on the drivers side. The cover just snaps off and allows access to the affected part (damper connected to the door via a plastic pin). I found the pin that snapped off inside and was able to put it back in as a temp fix until I could get it to the dealer. The damper also controls the light in the glovebox, if your light doesn't come on I'm pretty sure you have the same issue I did.
