Default HELP, lean MIL on APR 1+!!?!?? I'm quite pissed and don't know what to do

Heavy downpours in the midwest today, driving my girlfriend to the airport (plane then got canelled)... MIL came on, solid light, thought it was another coil pack failure (2002, 1.8tqm)

Get home, no real adverse effects, stop by an auto-zone to get vagged and pulled a P0171- lean in bank 1.

I was giong to go to the dealer hoping it was a coilpack misfire, but lean is usually an indication of MAF, no? I do have the 1+ programming and the larger injectors... all the dealerships around (Columbus, OH area) DO NOT want to deal with chipped cars... should I take it to the dealership and take my chances with warranty or should I deal with the local tuner (hour and a half away) and APR (ugh)?

anyone else get lean MIL's on their B6's?

any insight would be great, thanks a lot guys!

Default NOPE, I still throw that code but no light.

I think it is the 02 sensor, if you have a vag check you lambda readings. I have just ignored the code. I called APR about it and they weren't too much help. I have had my 02 sensor replaced twice, maybe this time I will try the MAF see if that does it.

Default Consider changing to another tuning company?

I'm not seeing CEL/MIL posts for GIAC, MTM, etc.

Default yeah I have been thinking about going to MTM, but I don't know

what injectors they use.

Default Lean means you are running an air/fuel mixture that has too

much air in it. It COULD be the MAF, giving a reading too low and thus the ECU commands too little fuel. I would work with your tuner/APR. They are responsible for the performance of the 1+ upgrade, and it shouldn't set a code.

Btw, you won't be doing any damage to your car by running lean, but you may not experience all of the performance that you should be getting with the 1+.

Another problem with APR. What's going on guys? Get ABT or MTM until they work the bugs out.
