Default help please.....xpost from audio forum

so i'm rewiring my amp to run off RCA inputs from the rear amp of my non-Bose system in my 2002 A4. I hit a snag tho...namely i accidentally cut one of the wires i'm trying to splice. I have some extra speaker wire and also some wires that are for the remote turn on lead that look to be about the same guage. i also have a random wire that looks to be of the right guage. my question is, can i splice any of these in to the input wires to the factory amp? thanks

Default Not Sure I'm getting you but.....

When I wired my stereo I cut a RCA cable and connected it to the new deck. Then the cut end I made a connector to plug into the factory connector. If your going to go through all the bother to run RCA all the way to the rear just to cut into the factory wires. why not just install a new better amp? The factory speakers are really quite amazing when they have a quality deck running them

Default THis is just to power my subs

i thought it'd be easy to tap into the rear amp because its in the trunk and get RCA input and a remote turn-on lead from there.

Default subs?

Ok I'm going to assume you want to add a amp and new subs to the car. I'm not 100% on how that would work because the Audi sub uses the right rear and left rear speaker inputs to operate the Audi sub. to hook up RCA you would have to splice an RCA cable into both speaker wires and then put the ground of the rca to COM. The amp turn on wire should be fine spliced. If you are just adding subs and trying to run them from the Audi amp I would argue that the Audi amp is far from powerful enough and would sound like crap.
