Default Help with Radio Reception!!

I have used for years a pioneer avh-p7500 dvd flip out screen head unit with a pioneer nav system in the trunk. It's a great setup except for one thing, I cannot get a drop of radio reception.

Recently I've become addicted to a few local stations while driving a rental while mine was in the shop. I can't live any longer just listening to my ipod.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy an external wire antennae and run it along the inside of the back windshield or another method to fix this? I'm trying to avoid buying satellite radio, plus it won't have my local shows.

Any suggestions would be great!
