Gum.
Apparently while I was driving along one day last week someone in the car in front of me threw their gum out the window and it ended up sticking to the front bumper of my A4. At first when I saw it I thought it was some bird had crapped on my car but then upon closer review I noticed that the object has a light blue color to it and when I got really close figured out it was gum.

Needless to say the gum was removed yesterday when I washed the A4 on a nice 52 degree day. After thinking about it more I bet that chewed gum would not be a good paint protectant because of any acid that might be in the saliva.....if acid is in saliva...I don't know.
