Default here's a puzzler.....

let me begin by saying that i'm not sure i have all the facts (i'm ath school and my car's at home) but apparently, recently the brakelights have been "turning themselves on" (in the words of my mom) even if the car is off. So far, the only electrical mod I've done is installing my amp and subs...the amp is wired off a speaker-level input harness from the wire going to the stock sub. is there any chance that the tap to the amp is somehow causing the brakelights to turn on? i would think no because there's no power going to it when the car is off....the only thing i could think of is a faulty sensor in the brakes...is this possible? anyone have anyone other ideas? thanks

Default i would think that if the sub wiring

were the cause that it would be on most if not all of the time. not intermittent like she describes. i think you need more info from her. I have a similar set up for my amp and there is no power going there when the car is off.

Default Thats what i think...but my mom seems pretty hooked to this sub theory...

she's taking it in to the dealer and i wouldn't be scared becuase i know and trust all the techs, but i wouldn't put it past her to try to get them to pull the subs "just to be sure"....might have to use this as an excuse to get that new kicker amp i've been wanting =P

I had this problem. Have the dealer replace your "Brake Light Switch"
