HEY! The baby Jetta's in trouble!
OK. I changed the oil in the Jetta. When I put the plug back in, I forgot the washer ring. The new oil was already in when I discovered this. So, I backed the plug about 1/2 way out, snipped the washer so I could get it around the plug. Squeezed it together with needlenose'. AND NOW I'M LEAKING OIL FROM THE OIL PLUG. Just a little, but wherever I park, a 4-5 " spot. My new driveway! Ouch! I have a new plug and washer, should I change it?

yeah swap it quickly and you should be fine....
maybe get gloves and (assuming you're doing this while the engine is cold...obviously this wouldn't work too good with a hot engine) like stick your left thumb in the hole to keep the oil in there while you get the plug and gasket in
