HID Question (5000K or 6000K)
Hey Guys,
About to jump on a group buy over on Audizine on a HID kit to use on my stock 99.5 halogen projectors. He's offering 5000K and 6000K kits, and I want to know which is better. Basically I know for the better light output I should go with 5000K, because it has more lumens with what I hear is a hint of blue/purple?? while 6000K sacrifices some light but has more color to it. I know factory Audi Xenon's are about 4300K and have a touch of blue to them, but provide the most light. So my question is, which is the better bulb for me? I want good lighting, and I know that both 5k and 6k will be far superior that my halogen lights that I have currently, but at the same time a little bit of color...but nothing too much, I don't want to overdue it and be "ricey".....so which is the better bulb, and what do owners on here prefer?
5000K = 3200 lumens crystal white
6000K = 2800 lumens blue/purple
Thanks again guys for all the help guys, it is much appreciated!

I posted on both....
When I searched for HID information, I noticed alot more B6 owners talked about upgrades rather than B5. And since this isn't a model specific question I thought I would ask you guys as well. Why would you go 5000k Yoogene?

ah, since you're more than a noob, i shall answer your question. :)
5000k will give a really, really bright white light with a hint of blue in it. it's your best bet for having the most amount of light output among the two, which is something i would be more concerned about if you want to stay away from "rice".
personally, i like the 6000k, but from your description, i would recommend the 5000k for you.
Good luck

6000K has more
color in it....but is it so much it would be considered "ricey." One of the things I love about xenon's are there blue/purple effect, will I still get that with the 5K bulbs? Or is 6K for me?
