Default High Iron content in oil sample, can someone comment, please.....

This is not Audi related, but ruther an '01 Mitsubishi Montero, 49k, that my wife has owned since new. Just got a report back from Blackstone lab with commentary that is not alarming, but suggests caution and and a follow up sample, which I will do again in 3k.
For the first time I decided to extend the interval to 6 months or 6k, as Mitsu suggests 3mo/3k. This time I let the mileage get to 4500 and that was at 6 month mark. Changed it last week. In the past it was always changed at 3mo/3k, even though I have been using synthetic M1 5W-30 extended performance since brake in.
Oil M1 5W-30 extended performance
Oil Filter M1 extended performance

Measured Universal Avarages
Iron 26 13
Copper 7 10
Lead 6 6
TBN 3.3 indicates additive remaining
No abnormal wear or any other indication are present. Is this cause for concern?
This is the comment from the lab:

ALEKSANDAR: Iron, along with your lower end wear metals (copper and lead), increased in this sample. This probably does not indicate a wear problem developing but we suggest watching these metals in future samples. Excess wear metals in the oil make it abrasive, which causes more wear.
The oil was in good shape physically, containing no moisture, fuel, or coolant. Silicon and insolubles read normally showing good air and oil filtration. The TBN read 3.3, still showing active additive remaining. Check back for another look at iron.

Thanks

Default I think it is a fine sample.I disagree that micronic wear metals make the oil "abrasive".How was Si?

Mobil 1 typically reads high Fe. Likely due to one or two assumed reasons. One being that detergent/high solvency of M1 washes away existing deposits, which contain Fe deposits of their own into the sump oil. Another source is the borate esters and alkalated napthalene scavenging directly into the steel. If you had high Si, that could be another source. Winter UOAs are typically bad too. I say there is not an issue. Post your UOA at Bob's and get some real input. Total skip on the Mobil 1, try some good ol Havoline or Motorcraft at longer ocis. Wear rates actually go down over longer service intervals, not higher from "abrasion" as was said.

Here is an interesting thred on corrosive metal wear. If you search, maybe you can find the High wear w/ Mobil 1 threads. Search there is a pita.<ul><li><a href="http://theoildrop.server101.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&amp;Board=UBB1&amp;Number=62178 &amp;Searchpage=1&amp;Main=62163&amp;Words=magazin e+Primus&amp;topic=&amp;Search=true#Post62178">htt p://theoildrop.server101.com/forums/showflat

Default I assume Si=Silicone, forgot my chemistry classes....

it shows 9 compared to universal avarage 10 and shows rise by 2 units vs last time when it was recorded at 7, at 35k with a sample that was only 3mo/1800mi.
Thanks for responding on this.

Default ~Silicon~, not silicone. I say change to a dino oil for lower wear. Los Alamos' Periodic Table....

As an FYI, it's a nice chart.<ul><li><a href="http://periodic.lanl.gov/default.htm">http://periodic.lanl.gov/default.htm</a</li></ul>
