Default Hill Brake

I just noticed the hill brake feature. on even a slight incline (or a big one), you can take your foot off the brake and the car will stay. no parking brake needed. cool. didn't see that in the manual.

Auto transmission? If so it's just the characteristic, not a feature

Also noticed on flat ground it takes more brake to hold the car still, it wants to go!

Default It depends on a few factors with the transmission, hill angle, etc. on whether you will (more)

roll forward, roll back, or stay in place. Is this a CVT/Multitronic or a Tiptronic?

I wouldn't abuse the characteristic. It's always best to keep your foot on the brake whenever stopped, and to not put possible undue stress on the transmission (i.e. always use your parking brake with an automatic when parked on a hill, don't rely on the Park mode of the transmission).

Default dont do this.

its not the break, its the transmission, and strain is put on it when you leave the parking break off on an incline.

Default Misunderstood , you were talking about when the car is on.

Thats just the standard characteristic as someone else said of all autos.
The CVT was designed to apply minimal pressure to the chain to simulate this crawl effect.

Default the audi doesn't actually have one

I think you just got luck.. i'm assuming you mean while you're holding the break at a stop light on a hill?

find a steeper hill and you'll roll back.
