I was thining the K03 w/ K04 upgrade

Just all the internals are different. So a K04 is an upgraded K03...kinda

Im looking for a way to get aroung the 1800 for the apr k04 kit

I think its like $850 or something. Then get TT225 injectors for $300 and software for $xxx. Because, iirc, the APR kit doesn't include the software.

Stock K03's and K04's have very weak exhaust housings that are prone to cracking, I called them up and they built me an OEM K04 center cartridge with an aftermarket high-nickel content exhaust housing that is more resistant to cracking. So far so good, I've had the turbo for over a month and so far no issues, but they were great on the phone and delivered as promised. Just make sure that if you want an authentic K04, you have to ask them for an OEM center cartridge, if not they will build one with an aftermarket cartridge that has similarly-sized turbines.
