Hit or skip: Falken ZE912 M+S tires, 235/40/18 used 600 miles for $325..a good tire?

decent A/S tire, gets through the snow well, but not so good at corners in the snow with the large shoulder blocks....
but since the snow is only on the road for a couple days around here, they work great and I would rather have better dry traction for the 90% of the time when there is no snow.
My only issue so far is they tramline when on grooved pavement because the tires have circumferential grooves

I heard the 912's are worse, but I have no experience with them
they have no rim protector, they reduced the circumferential grooves so less noise and tram-lining I guess...
