Sounds great. I think I will wait a bit longer before buying.

Default AM update: swapped coils 1 + 3, misfires still on 3 mainly

threw random multiple and cyl 3 codes, but no CEL

Default Any misfires recorded for cylinders besides #3?..

With that info, the coilpack itself is not implicated as the source of the fault causing the misfires. Instead, the focus shifts to fuel delivery. Possible things involved, are the injector nozzle fouled by carbon deposits, or an electrical glitch in the injector power supply circuit, or connections to the ECU. An important clue is the fact that the misfire symptom mainly occurs during cold start up and does not continue after warm up. This is a fairly clear sign that the issue is fuel related IMO, not ignition system, and points to the likely cause of the misfire as a fuel delivery problem. Because the fuel mixture control is "open loop" during cold start up, the ECU cannot monitor and detect the excess lean fuel ratio occurring. Is the lambda adaptation values at a high correction percentage?

Just some things to consider....

Default maybe 1-2 misfires max on the other cylinders

not enough to throw a code. was monitoring channels 14-16. what channel(s) would I look at for the lambda adaptation value(s)?
