Default Yes, that is certainly possible.

But considering the transitory nature of the event, it's likely the symptoms were caused by a different means. It will be interesting to see what DTC's exists in this case.

Default Your running hitachi white top coil packs from the 2000 ATW?

From the sounds of it your issue isn't the coil pack, because once it fails it doesn't come back to life.

Default That is more evidence that the brief misfires, where not caused by the coilpack/s. ...

The DTC is unspecific, but if it was a coilpack, then the misfires by cylinder #, would be recorded. With the DTC that was stored, listing no unique cylinder/s, then all of the cylinders where likely involved, and it was not an ignition related misfire. Maybe a fuel delivery glitch, or something associated with the charge air supply or MAF meter, or IAT sensor, Or??? If it happens again, try and catch the ECU Freeze frame data associated with the symptoms.

TJ: my supposed CP problems turned out to be leaky VC gasket, causing hiccups.
