Default homelink programming

Like several others, I have a homelink transmitter in my car. The garage door opener in my house is one with a rolling code that needs to be synched with the remote transmitter. The way to do this is to hold a button down on the back of the garage unit whilst simultaneously pressing the remote transmitter. This causes them to synch up. The issue is that to get to the garage door button, I have to essentially climb up a short stair. Any thoughts on if the homelink can be safely removed from the car while I press the garage button and the homelink door open at the same time or will I have to borrow a friend to do this.

thanks

/vijay

I needed my wife to help me out. I foloowed the directions on the garage door opener, not the manual.

Default I found I could do it myself by standing up in the seat ...

through the open sunroof. You can push both buttons at the same time that way.
