How do I fix this wierd radio noise?

I installed my iPod/ BLitzsafe yesterday, and while it seems to work just fine I noticed that when the iPod is off or on a quiet/soft song, and the radio volume is above ~9 or so, there is a very high pitched whine that gets higher as I rev the engine... What would be the cause of that? I did just sort of stuff all the wires back in there behind the radio, would it be helpful to straighten them all out? Any help appreciated... Oh and by the way this whining sound is not present in any other stereo mode (CD, radio, etc) and it doesn't go away when I unplug the iPod.

I know it's a pain, but try unplugging AND relocating away that cable from the blitzsafe and see if you can hear it then. will at least tell you which of the two components is picking up the alternator whine.

the cable you're referring to is a Monster iPod cable, which is supposedly heavily shielded, but I think what you're saying makes sense. My plan is that when I get the bracketron I'll sort the wiring better and separate the blitzsafe from the rca converter and see what happens, unless someone mentions another fix... thanks!
