Default How do I replace my LOW BEAM Headlight bulb?

I want to replace the LOW BEAM headlight bulb.

I saw that the light bulb costs me $3.92+shipping at
http://www.genuinevwaudiparts.com/. But the Audi service center is charging me $40.

Can I replace it myself? How easy is it?
Can I buy the light bulb at Advanced auto parts or pepboys too?

Default did you get an answer from someone?

I heard that its relatively easy. As simple as removing a couple of screws and replacing the bulb. I opened the hood. Its not self-intutive.

Default Why not go with better bulbs?

OEM GE bulbs are junk compared to Philips BlueVision or Osram Silver Stars.

Replacement of a bulb shouln't take more than 10 minutes.

There are about 3 torx bolts that you need to remove to remove the entire headlight assembly, then it is intuitive. Two are near the top and should be semi-visible. One is on a lower mounting tab of th headlight assembly, somewhere underneath the airbox on the passenger side. It will take a 8" extension to get at it. It may not have to be removed, maybe just loosened since I think that hole is an open slot.

Get Silverstars - they make a big difference in the appearance of the light.
