Yes, and "1BA" is NON sport suspension as OEM.

Default I thought I remembered reading on here or somewhere that there was a second code that meant sport...

package as well. I'm probably mixed up though.

Default Yes, the S4 sport suspension option code is "1BV".....

But will only show up "as built" on a S4.

Default Thanks very much; I'm only asking because the car rides like a freakin' buckboard . . .

My 2002 TT 225 coupe feels like a limo by comparison. I don't have the car with me right now, but I'll check your various suggestions when I get home. I don't think that it has red shocks, though, so maybe the standard A4 Avant is just set up to knock my teeth out everytime I hit an expansion strip.

Default My '03 Avant with the std suspension had a harsh ride also....

I replaced the springs with '05 OEM sport springs, and Koni FSD shocks. I was surprised at how much better the ride quality was with the sport suspension. The ride was less harsh while at the same time, the car felt tighter, and handling was improved, no more "floatyness", less body roll, etc. And, it doesn't have the excessive large wheel gaps anymore.
