Default If it slips...
if your car just rev up when you get on the gas, like if the clutch was in and you pressed the gas.

Default when the rpms climb, but you don't move much...
put it in 1st and while moving, go WOT. if the RPM's go sky high and you know you aren't moving that fast, then you are slipping. sorry, kinda hard to explain.

Default Best way to tell is to put it in a high gear at a pretty low speed, so theres a load on the engine.
If the rpms climb and you dont move then theres a prob.

Default if it's bad enough you should be able to do it in any gear.
just got done replacing the clutch in a V6 Yota pickup. It was fun flooring it and not going anywhere for a few seconds! haha

do a 2nd to 5th shift and see if it holds, normally a good way of telling on an AWD car.
