How do you remove the plastic screen in the brake fluid reservoir?
I want to top off my brake fluid but I cannot remove the little plastic screen filter that sits at the opening. There must be some sort of trick to it, like push down and turn right or something like that....

something strange...
When I look at the outside the level seems low.
So I poured some brake fluid on top of the screen filter and the fluid didn't go down. It just stayed there and actually pour over a little. So I can conclude either:
1) My level is actually low, but my screen is badly clogged not allowing any fluid to pass,
or
2) My fluid level is really high and the outside is just deceiving my eyes. (I've used the flashlight method and I'm fairly sure it's low)
PS: I tried the screwdriver method for removal but that thing has some engagement tabs on it that makes it not want to budge. I'm afraid of breaking the screen cap.

Warning! The strainer in the brake fluid reservoir must not be removed
According to the new audi information system, it's not meant to be removed.
Instead the dirty fluid can be extracted by removing yellow plastic screw on the side.
I am not sure why the Bently manual I have doesn't mention anything about this... the amount of fluid that needs to be bled also doubles on Bentley (2.1L vs. 1L) as well as the bleeding sequence:
Bentley manual sequence is the opposite of above.
Instead the dirty fluid can be extracted by removing yellow plastic screw on the side.
Code:
Warning! The strainer in the brake fluid reservoir must not be removed.
- Connect extractor bleeder hose - 1 - to front left bleeder screw, open bleeder screw and allow about 200 ml to flow out.
Close bleeder screw. Repeat work sequence on other side of vehicle at front.
- Connect extractor bleeder hose - 1 - to rear left bleeder screw, open bleeder screw and allow about 200 ml to flow out.
Close bleeder screw. Repeat work sequence on other side of vehicle at rear.
