Default How fast can I get the 1.8t A4 to go? ....(more)

Will I be able to dip into 0-60 in 5.5 seconds ever?

Can I ever get into the 13's?

I'm talkin with bigger turbos, but not with Nos...

thanks

Default Mabe, but taking off all of your heavy audio/video stuff will help

I've just chated with a guy with a B5 A4 and he told me he was planing to get a bigger turbo and an other intercooler and he told he would be able to get over 300hp with that. No worry that he will break the 5.5 sec

Default Sure, but it will not be easy or inexpensive

Without race gas the B5ers were only able to wring out a high 13 from the T28 and GT25.

Since the B6 is heavier than those, you'll need to either compensate for it with weight loss or a higher output engine. While you can probably run a large turbo and break into the 13's there is always the question of reliability.

So, it just depends on how important speed is to you.

Exactly. It boils down to daily drivability. Big turbo = lag.

Default Why don't you buy a chip from a tuner that will eventually have a turbo upgrade, if you're set on it

That way you won't be stock for the time being, and it will offer a great compromise with an exhaust. If you do upgrade to GT25 or T28 later on, then they should give you a discount for having already bought a chip. You'll also have the exhaust ready so the cost to jump in won't be quite as high.

The audio stuff is weighing you down. You could lose up to 40Lbs with lighter wheels/tires and possibly up to 75 more with lightweight driver/passenger seats (assuming you have power a power driver's seat).

Default You will spend too much money with mods...

Don't forget the cost of depreciation. An A4 with tons of performance mods will depreciate much faster than an S4 off the rack or an unmodified A4. Come time to sell, you will need a very specialized buyer that will be hard to find. "Normal" drivers will assume the car was driven hard given the performance mods you want and at best give little to no additional value to them when determining what they are willing to pay for the car.
