Default How hard is it to replace the catalytic converter?

2003 A4, 1.8L FWD. Did lots of engine/body/mechanical/other work at the family garage growing up. Know enough to outsource exhaust and truck suspension work cuz it ain't the kind of thing you can do easily at home (no lift, no torches). It looks VERY tight in there, especially the cat outlet to the flex pipe flange bolts. Should I just let the local wrench have at it? The book says 2.4 hours. I believe it.

Default The bottom bolts can be a PITA...

they are at odd angles, and can pose a challenge to remove with regular hand tools, especially if they are corroded...
