How long do springs and shocks typically last?

How long do springs and shocks typically last?

My current guess is that shocks need to be replaced every 80k? And I have no clue on springs...has anyone had to replace theirs yet? I'm just trying to get an idea of expenses in the future. tia

springs last pretty much forever, shocks depend on the roads you drive...can last 100K+

I'm at 58k miles and my shocks have begun making noise over bumps.

Is that just normal do you think? Can I improve that, or am I stuck until I finally replace them one day?
