How long do you let your car warm up for?
It gets pretty cold here. Usually single digits and teens at night, no warmer than 30 during the day. I've been letting my car warm up for about 10 minutes every morning. Is that long enough? Too long?
Also how about cooling it down? I think I might have read somewhere that it is good to let your car idle for a minute or so before shutting it off.

yes too long
30-60 seconds then drive lightly up to 25% throttle angle and no boost until the motor reaches optimal temps. Try to keep it under 3000rpm's if possible.
Roughly speaking this is in your owners manual.
10 minutes is insane, you might as well change your oil every 2K miles (full synth) cause it will be polluted with fuel.

engine temp? as in water temp? it takes another 5 minutes at least for the oil temp>
to reach proper temp, which is more important than water temp.
Once the oil is up to temp, THEN it's good for anything.
If you beat on it before the oil get up to temp, you could have extra engine wear.

anything more than 1 minute after frigid temps is not good for the cat converter.>
the warm up program is extra rich, so it's best to get in and drive away gently pretty much right away.
Once the water AND oil are up to temps, then you can drive it hard.
A good warm up (driving the car)is good for all moving parts, engine, trans, drive shafts, differentials, bearings, etc.
In warm weather, get in, start it and drive immediately, just gently until everything is up to temp as well.
