I just got my car a few months back for about $850 over invoice, but I am wondering if dealers are less likely to discount Avants? The car is for my mom and she wants a 1.8T w/ Premium, Cold, Xenon, and Tiptronic. Colors are either Moro BLue or Canvas Beige...both with beige leather.

Any advice or info would be appreciated.

Yes, I know that the colors will vary between an '03 and and '04.

Since there just aren't a whole lot of them dealers tend to keep their price high.

When I was looking for my Avant in March, the best I could do was $1500 over invoice in the entire stte of TX. There was no dealer who was going to do it for any less.

Also, as an example, Volkswagen has 3.9% interest on wagons while 1.9% on sedans. It just shows you that they don't need to support them as much as sedans. Same goes for the A4.

I hope that helps. If you can get it for $1500 over invoice or less, you're doing good.

And to tell you another nightmare story, a guy in Hawaii (monopoy, only one dealer) was quoted $40K for a 1.8T Avant, nicely loaded (sticker was $35K). Talk about rip-off!

By any chance do you know if the owner loyalty discount works for the A4 Avant as well as the sedan? I got $500 off my sedan for being a past Audi owner?

BTW: How do you like the Atlas Grey? Such a sharp color IMO!

When my Wife went back to the dealer to get our deposit back, the sales manager asked her what are we going to do? She told him, we're taking vacations in Oct. and Nov. and we will look for Avant's in the mainland. He told her that he wasn't trying to rip us off!

So I've been in contact with two dealerships and so far it looks promising!

Here in the NEast, avants don't move quickly, no problem picking 1 up!
