You could usually get the most for it by advertizing in the local paper and selling to a private buyer, but may not be that way any more.
That's because of the recent 0% financing on new cars. If someone buys the car from you, it is not new, and they will not get 0% financing, or anything near it. So, instead of paying all those financing charges, people just decide to buy brand new cars instead of 1-year olds.
You'd have to lower your selling price significantly to offset all the interest the buyer of your car would have to pay.
Take it to the dealer, have them appraise it and let them tell you what they'll give you for it. Then, post an ad in a newspaper with a slightly higher price (consider bargaining too) and see if anyone responds. If not, you're probably not going to get much more than what the dealer offered you, or at least it won't be worth the hassle and time (if you need to get rid of it quickly).
It took me close to 2 months to get rid of my 2000 Accord earlier this year, and I only got a few hundred bucks more for it than a dealer would have paid me. And that only thanks to the fact that I found a buyer who paid me cash for it, so he didn't care about financing rates.
All in all, I lost a lot of $$$ on this Accord, but I'm still very happy that I got the A4.
Good luck!
