Default hum... nogaro alcantara preview...

so one thing i realised after i switched to a black interior is that is got really black in there...

well not to worry... i think i've found the perfect solution to remedy to all that darkness... spice up the interior w/ some nogaro alcantara inserts... and while i'm at it, since it would be such a damn shame to ripe that really nice speed fabric of my s-line seats, i thought i might as well get the seats that come w/ the nogaro insert...

well there it is then... <b><font color="darkblue">B6S4 Recaro seat w/ Nogaro alcantara inserts</font></b>...

<img src="http://images18.fotki.com/v328/photos/1/110342/3806113/roSeatsDriverSeatTestFitting01-vi.jpg">

<img src="http://images18.fotki.com/v331/photos/1/110342/3806113/roSeatsDriverSeatTestFitting02-vi.jpg">

schweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!! )

okay now even though i'm really excited about these seats, here's the fvcked up part...

these are the driver seat and the rear backrest seats boxes...

<img src="http://images1.fotki.com/v334/photos/1/110342/3788877/RecaroSeatsBoxedUp02-vi.jpg">

now as you can tell by the pic, the driver side box kind of look like it took a beating... well it did... enough to actually bent the back "hinge" of the right rail...

<img src="http://images14.fotki.com/v335/photos/1/110342/3788882/RecaroSeatsDriverSeatFrame01-vi.jpg">

<img src="http://images14.fotki.com/v335/photos/1/110342/3788882/RecaroSeatsDriverSeatFrame02-vi.jpg">

<img src="http://images1.fotki.com/v334/photos/1/110342/3788882/RecaroSeatsDriverSeatFrame03-vi.jpg">

<img src="http://images16.fotki.com/v282/photos/1/110342/3788882/RecaroSeatsDriverSeatFrame04_-vi.jpg">

now luckily for me i'm in good graces w/ a local Audi Tech Master... and since i had to pay him a visit on Saturday for some other stuff, i brought the seat along...

he was able to straigthen the hinge back in its position, however upon closer inspection of the weld of the hinge, it showed signs of weakening...

<img src="http://images14.fotki.com/v336/photos/1/110342/3788882/aroSeatsDriverSeatFrameHinge02-vi.jpg">

<img src="http://images14.fotki.com/v335/photos/1/110342/3788882/aroSeatsDriverSeatFrameHinge04-vi.jpg">

from here, there's a couple of options... either do nothing, re-do the weld, or change the frame... since the seat is a main safety feature i don't feel fortable with any of the options but changing the frame... it also turns out that the seller as a part one which he's gonna send me... but man why are these things never ever as straight forward as you think they're gonna be...

anyway... like you saw in the first pic we still went ahead and put the seat in to double check that all the controls were working fine, which they do... and well i'm loving the look... the next couple weeks waiting for the base to be fixed and gonna be torture!!!

now let's hope the passenger seat which i'm expecting tomorrow is gonna arrive in better shape than the driver seat...

final word... huge <b>thanks</b> to <b>Matt</b> for telling about these...!!!

Default Beautiful azzurra blue! ;-)

OK for you, call it French Blue.

Good call on fixing the weld issue, in case the worse would ever happen.
