Say you live in Sturgis, South Dakota and the closest dealer is in Wyoming, Colorado, or Minnesota all are over 150 miles away. What do you do about warranty oil changes?
Could you take the car to a VW dealership that is only 25 miles away for warranty oil changes or do you have to drive 2+ hours to have the oil changed for free?

due to no other dealer within a 25 mile radius. But now there is a new Audi dealer in Mission Viejo so the VW dealer is no longer authorized....but check with AOA, they should be able to answer that.

just kidding. I bet that you could pay for your own oil changes at an independent mechanic's shop, but document everything. Just becuase it if free (inluded in the regular maintenance until 4yrs/50k miles) does not mean you have to go there.
On a side note, if you choose to go with an independent mechanic to change the oil, you should still consult with AoA to find out what you have to do to maintain warranty coverage. Does the car have to be inspected every 10k miles in addition to the oil change by a certified Audi mechanic at a dealer???
