Default I am sick of brake dust ... HELP!

How do you all deal with this excess brake dust on your wheels? It only takes a 10 minute spin around the block and I already have a black film built up on the wheels... Suggetions? someone posted a message, to put on a heavy coat of wax on the wheels to make it easier to clean!

Default That will definitely help.

But go out and get some EBC greenstuff pads, will eliminate the dust dramatically. I think i might go that direction really soon.

Default Mintex Pads will eliminate most of the dust...

EBC Greens will, too, but to a lesser extent.

Just be happy you don't have a 1st gen. A4 - then you can talk about real dust.

Also - waxing wheels will not make the dust go away- it will just protect them better from the elements. I've never had difficulty cleaning brake dust from my wheels, whether they were waxed or not. As long as you don't wait too long between washes, you'll be OK.

Default wax

definitely wax your wheels.. put two coats, you'll still have to clean them weekly or every other week.. but its a whole lot better than unwaxed wheels.

Default Love my EBC's and they provide better initial bite as well as much lower dust.

I can drive for two weeks and have less brake dust than 2 days with stock. Mostly it's road dust. My Mintex pads started producing a lot of dust after 20k. And i didn't notice better braking.

Default Although I dont like the dust, tell me, do these other pads eat rotors more?

Id be willing top sacrifice looks and stuff if rotors last longer.

Also dont like idea of decreasing stock performance, initial bite stronger? does that mean that there are some downsides? also do they have the brake pad sensors?
