What am I doing wrong? The black wire is grounded, the red wire was placed in the footwell lighting fuse, the fuse was replaced, the lights turned on and off, but no action! Any advice or guidance would be sorely appreciated! thanks

Don't the footwell lights get power only when the door is opened?

Default Honestly, I don't know very much about what I am doing here...

A4Pat was good enough to give me some instructions that I was trying to follow..What would a volt-ometer tell me? How would I use it? I am trying to rig the footwell lighting to turn on when the headlights are activated...is this possible? Otherwise, I just want to change my footwell lighting to red, by using this product...

Default So you've rewired them to the headlight circuit ? That would be the way to go.

If they are still on the door switch/light circuit, you probobly won't be able to make it work. If you don't have a voltmeter, trouble shooting is going to be tough - Sears has basic ones pretty cheap. You need to make sure you're getting power to them at the right time you want.

I'm not much of an expert at car wiring. If it still eludes you, find a good stereo shop to do it for you. Make sure they solder the connections, not just crimp them ( corrosion or vibration can cause problems ).

Honestly, if I were you, I'd ask someone with some electrical experience to help you out.
