Default I bought a B6. IM SO HYPED!!!

After stalking this board for three years I got a B6. Funny thing is I just made my mind up yesterday I wanted to wait and cop a IS250 in the summer. I rode home the long way and passed the Toyotas dealership I didnt like. They alway gave me a hard time giving me a straight answer. I rode pass and asked a guy on the lot how much was the 2002 A4. He shocked me with the price by saying it was only $15k. I gave him my info. I was so sure my credit was jacked up and needed a co-sign. This morining I check and my credit was much better than I thought. I ran down to dealership, He wouldnt budge on the price much. So I tried to get him to negotiate extra such as painting the lowers for free. He wouldnt but said my 98 Altima could be traded it. Little did he know the car was a trainwreck waiting to happen. It had $2000 worth of work to do on it. He gave me a $1000 for trade in sught unseen just knowing it was a 98 altima. I was unabble to drive the car home because the insurance I bought doest kick in till midnight. It has high mileage 88K but for my area AWD its a bargain. Interior is flawless and black leather (very important). No dings or scratches whatsoever. Im thinking of NAV plus + and headrest combos as we speak.

I felt the bumps in the road when driving is that problem or am I expecting too much?

Default congrats man - now slow down!

That is REALLY high mileage for an 02 (honestly I dont think I would have paid 15K for it). You bought a 2002 A4 with 88K miles - you should check on some stuff asap. First off, find out if that timing belt has been changed. If it hasn't do that right away or else you could get stuck with a big repair bill. Did you do all your homework, like check the carfax on it? Cause you might have felt you got the best of this salesman by trading in your 98 altima that needed work - but if this A4 you just bought hasn't been serviced in a while, well you have a lot of maintanence to do.

Is the timing belt considered 90K service?

Default the timing belt according to Audi isdone at like ~90-100K (I have an 03 and my manual says 105K) but

it is fairly well known that TBs do not make it that long in VW/Audis. Generally it is recommended that it is changed (along with your water pump) at ~60K miles. You obviously have no warranty left so it will be coming out of your pocket. If it does break, you will be looking at a nasty repair bill.

Default How nasty?

Im going to put it in their ear just "assuming" they did it. If it wasnt done I want them to pay half for put 1/2 the bill price off the car.

Default Welcome and enjoy

Is it CPO'd? If not, I would get all maintenance required done before jumping on NAV and such. Go over to your regional forum and search for a good local service shop. Cheers.

If your timing belt breaks or has issue in many case it will cause major engine damage.

If timing belt was replaced at 60k should I still PUSH for replacement at 90k?
