Default I can't find a dealer that will take less than 1500 over invoice

Am I just not being pushy enough or what. I tell them i buy the car today $1000 but no one will do it. I even threaten to walk away. Am I being unreasonable to expect i can get $1500 over invoice.

Default If what you want is in short supply and the dealers can sell it

for more, why would they sell to you for less ? Sounds like the price for what you want in your area is slightly higher than you anticipated. 3 to 5% over invoice is normal. So you are closer to 5% than 3%. It shouldn't keep you from buying a great car at what is hopefully a great dealer.

Supply and demand.

Where are you located?

Default It mostly depends on location and the specific dealer

I told a few Audi and BMW dealers that I would only pay 1K over invoice. Left my information, spoke a few other times and no one budged. This seems pretty common in Seattle, but others around the country have even been able to reach as low as $700-800 over.

I ended up paying $1,500 over invoice, or about 4%. I'm sure if I bought out of state I could have found a better deal, but I didn't think it was worth alienating the dealer who will service my car for.

I ordered a rare combo, so that also had an impact on the price.

Default I love the folks who say, "I never pay more than invoice for any car I buy."

My only question is are they buying a car or a discount ? Some cars never sell for invoice - does that mean they are worth it, or overpriced ?

I understand where you're coming from though ;-)

Default We're having a little B6 gathering on the 26th from 11am to about 3pm.

Everyone and all cars are welcome, but the focus this time will be the B6. B5, TT, Passat, Jetta, Golf, all will come.

AMS is located in Carson Ca.

Default Plus a $190 fee. It's a referral service with dealers bidding for your business

just like they would if you went there in person, so if the product is hot, you won't see much if any advantage, and you have to wait 2 weeks for the report, etc. The dealer bids on a basic car, not one with specific options or colours and this service has no influence over the dealer since they state clearly that they show no favourites when it comes to dealers. That means if the dealer has a hot seller, they aren't going to sell it to your for $100 over invoice when they know they can get more for the car. You usually get the purple car with the puke green interior that has been on the lot for 6 months;-) Since Audi does not use holdback, pricing a car is pretty basic and can be found on multiple websites.

It's not really different than Autobytel ( who takes their fee from dealers ) and offers less service than Cars Direct.

How do I know ? I worked briefly in this feild.
