Default Question Ralphie:

How do you the tip with quattro? Does it feel sluggish or does it have enough "punch" for you?

Default Re: Question Ralphie:

I think I'm happy with the power (for now). There have been two or three times that I've wished for a little quicker shifting. When it's in the right gear and in the powerband the power is good enough for me.

I guess it depends from what kinda car you've been driving before. I used to drive an '88 Pontiac 6000. Huge difference right?

Am I happy with the performance? Yes.

Will I need a chip to stay happy? Maybe, if I hang around here long enough.

Bottom line: Next time, it's a stick for sure.

Thanks for the info. I struggled with the decision of quattro for weeks. I test drove it and it felt like something was holding it back when I accelarated. Then I drove the CVT and loved the way it took off. Then everyone recommened that if I was getting 1.8T with quattro, then get manual. I didn't want a manual so I went with the CVT. Quattro is still nice though.

Default Audi has no holdbacks or internal programs other than

the CSI bonus. If a dealer is over a certain customer satisfaction score and among the top three in a region ( like SoCal/NorCal ), they can win a quarterly bonus. THAT'S ALL !!!!! Nothing else ! No super secret programs.

Of course, we won't know if Devius really got $200 over until the car arrives, and if we can see the contract. There are many, many ways for the dealer to word things so as to have the customer believe one thing, when the reality is quite another. There is absolutely no reason for a dealer to lose money ( and $200 over means they actually lose money - given overhead ) on a hot car, unless sales absolutely suck around there, or there are other factors we are not aware of.

Default Trust me. Not including the destination charge, I got $200 over invoice.

And if the numbers all of a sudden change when the car comes, I won't take delivery at that dealer. I'll go with the program from my job and still get it.
