As some of u may recall...about one month I ago i had my car transported thru ALS auto shippers (who by the way are horrible), they were extremely rude and ghetto and were inconsiderate of their customer's concern for their vehicles. Well thats besides the point. Just in case anyone needs to transport their Audi. DO NOT GO WITH ALS auto shippers!!!! So I got my A4...and I decided to take the Jersey native to the UNLV Thomas & Mack Center and take some night pics...visibility is so so. But just a relieved Audi owner reunited with her A4.

Default I don't recommend FHT auto Transport either. Took 3 weeks from NJ to CA and when I got my TT

there was an additional 150 miles on the odometer.

Default yup same here....read for more terror

It took a total of about 4 weeks. ANd it was suppost to only cost $850.00. I wanted to go with this other company that would of cost about $1100.00, and I would of got my car in about 10 days. But my dad said that I shouldn't pay an extra $250.00 because I'm impatient. So I compromised and I went with the $850.00. A lady named Gina, said my grand total including taxes, fees, and all charges would be included in this total. So it sounded like a fair deal and I went with them. Boy oh boy did I make the wrong decision. I set up everything with ALS and put the required $200.00 deposit to begin the order. By about the third week after my initial order was made, I was beginning to become irritated and wanted to know why I haven't received my car in the time promised. ALS said they were backed up and behind...and as an understanding customer I said it was ok. Just wanted to know a definitive time frame of when I would receive my Audi. They couldn't give me one. So ok. FINE. My car finally gets to CA ready to be driven out to LV. And the delivery driver said I owe a total of $850.00. This is odd. I mean I already put a $200.00 deposit so I should only owe $650.00. So I called ALS to clear up the misunderstanding. There was no misunderstanding what so ever. According to "Fred" there are miscellaneous fees included in the fine print of their 10-page, 8-point font contract. I was like What!!!!! So I asked nicely," Why was I told the total amount i would be paying was $850.00, and not$1050." Fred said," I should of thoroughly read my contract and that I shouldn't have been so negligent in reading paragraph 6 of page 4, where it says that I'm paying for some sort of gas charges, and some more fees for expedited service." I was really surprised that businesses that are interested in keeping customers still hide fees in contracts in such an abundant amount. Oh and then to top it off he hangs up on me because he doesn't have time to explain "hidden fees" in their contracts. OMG. So I call back and I tell him I'm not paying that extra $200.00, that I wasn't told about. He then turned ghetto on me and said, " He would have my car impounded for $50.00 a day, and brought back to NJ until I decided to cough up the cash." Ok at this point, I'm deathly scared for my A4, that I irresponsibly put in the hands of gangsters. So fine, I accept that I was conned and I just want to see my A4 and check every corner for any damages and make sure its ok. So I called the delievery guy...and paid him an extra $100.00 to get it to me in 24hrs. The delivery guy, was cool and did it. And my grand total for transporting my A4 in one month with gangstas was $1150.00 So messed up. I told my dad to go with the other co. But NOOOOOO!!!! Kids don't know better right? Well not in this case. Well, I'm just happy that my A4 was fine, and in mint condition. Pheeeewwww!!!

Default yeah...my a4 was supposed to be delivered today...called them and they told me it's still in Spokane

Washington... WHAT?! It's still on the friggin west coast. I gave them my car last monday. They've had a week and two days already to get it here...(something they said would be no problem and agreed to) and it's no closer to the east coast than it was when I gave it to them.

the original auto shipper ended up contracting another shipper to ship my car and told the shipper that my car had to be delivered on the 1st or 2nd... but the shipper thought they said anytime AFTER the 2nd... so now they put my car on a truck that won't get here until the MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

They said "oh...we thought you wanted the car anytime 'after' the 3rd...not 'on' the 3rd...we'll put it on a truck today and hopefully it will get to you by next tuesday or wednesday...sorry for the inconvenience"...

UGH. I was silent...didn't say a word...I made it SO CLEAR when I wanted the car to be delivered before I gave it to them... and he was like "um...how about I take $150 off of the delivery price?"

So I got an incovenience discount of $150. whatever. I'd rather pay it and have my baby right now.

So now I wait.

Stupid Stupid bastards.

Default well, the American Auto Transport dispatcher (the ones actually shipping my car) sucked. He was

pretty rude on the phone. (he was constantly interrupting me to talk to someone else in the room...and then comes back and says "I'm sorry...what were you saying?" WHO DOES THAT?!

and he only gave me the discount because he already got a call from the original broker/shipper and I imagine he was told to make good or else he'd lose business. (I made a complaint to the original broker/shipper)

The original broker/shipper is Specialty Mobile Systems. They are great. Amazing customer support. It's just too bad they're not the ones actually shipping my car.

I chose SMS because of the research I did beforehand. They had over 140 positive "you should chose SMS to ship your car" reviews... they were always delivering on time or early... almost no instances of damage to customer cars...etc. They had the most positive reviews.

They were also a bit more expensive than others. I ended up getting $1195 as the quoted amount to ship, $195 being the deposit. $1000 on delivery.

But I was willing to pay the extra couple hundred to not have to deal with all of the horror stories I had read (just like yours) regarding other, cheaper, shippers.

I had the exactly conversation with my parents... "don't waste your money! go with the cheaper shippers!" but I had the luxury of not having to listen to them.

Whatever... I guess I just had some bad luck... and I guess it just boils down to a miscommunication between broker and shipper. and I did get a discount making the delivery payment $850.

And SMS said that if anything else happened like it taking longer than next tuesday... they'll call AAT and make sure I get even more of a discount. So at least I have them fighting for me too.

car was being shipped from Oregon to Boston.

Default You should do the drive sometime....

Did the cross country trek from Anacortes WA to NJ last summer and its alot of fun. The rockies are a must see. Were going to do the NJ to BC route(trans Canada highway) this spring in our Boxster which should be fun, but tight.
Nice looking A4.
