I got this lovely error yesterday: 16712 - Knock Sensor 1 (G61): Signal too High

Default I got this lovely error yesterday: 16712 - Knock Sensor 1 (G61): Signal too High

Here's the full text:

Software Coding: 0016701

1 Fault Found:

16712 - Knock Sensor 1 (G61): Signal too High
P0328 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded - Intermittent

Should I just replace the knock sensor and call it a day? Or at least check whether it's torqued down properly?

Oh and I sometimes get this one:

Default No symptoms, but I've been rather paranoid since getting the vag-com cable last month...

so I scan my car on a weekly basis. No CEL or anything.

Default that's funny, I did the same thing for a while!

that's how I found out that I had the same or similar error code for my HVAC system as you.

Default I remember my weekly scans LOL

having ur own vag requires control and only scaning when there is something wrong. otherwise the random codes start freakn u out and then any sound out of ur car scares the chit outa ya

Default Do we know what that HVAC code means?

I first saw it last spring. It was there in September, but was not present during the last scan (2 days ago).
