That doesn't make sense. Which Beru (part #)? No warnings before plugs?

Are those the proper injectors (did they come with the kit)? Was this a "complete" K04 kit purchased from Neuspeed or Neuspeed dealer? You need to have a tech/dealer/tuner help diagnose this right away. There might be other problems. Who did the install/work? Did you make sure the plugs were in, as well as the coil packs? All connections ok? I'm just thinking about anything you might have handled/worked on and might not be installed back properly. Go over everthing again that was done first, to make sure everything looks right.

the CEL doesn't always come on "instantly" there is so much redundancy and checks that are done ..

sometimes it may* take 100 miles or more. I am speaking from my own experience of course. I had my codes reset in Santa Barbara and the light didn't come on again until I got past Sacramento. There are known issues that I knew would make the CEL come back on but what the hell.
